Update on Library Hall & Fitness Center

Can we build it? Yes, we can!

It’s always interesting to get an update on two of the biggest city projects in recent memory. We checked in with the project leader and ice cream enthusiast, Ryan Clark.

Library Hall: Interior paint is underway, the auditorium seating area is scheduled for a concrete pour on June 3rd, exterior metal panel installation continues, and masonry is scheduled to start back up next week. The project is making great progress and we will need help from city employees for sod installation in August.

Family Fitness Center: The polished concrete floors were poured last week on the main floor, tile installation in the locker rooms continues, mechanical trades continue making great progress, second-floor rooms are almost framed out, parks crews installed sprinklers and sod on the west side of the new connector road, the MVHS north parking lot demolition starts today with an effort by city crews to install necessary utilities, complete demolition, and turn the site over to Sunroc by next Monday for parking lot construction. The project is on schedule.

If you would like even more details on how the projects are progressing, Ryan has shared a recent presentation he gave to the City Council on the status of the projects.
