Public Works Crew Leader and Cubs Superfan Jesse Robinson won the Hawaii trip in 2015.
Winning the Hawaii trip is something you can’t even comprehend unless it has happened to you and that’s why we reached out to past winners to get their perspective on what some have called a “life-changing” trip.
Here is what Jesse Robinson from Public Works had to say about it:
What’s it like when you hear your name called for the Hawaii Trip?
Magical! One of the best moments of my life! I was walking away to go home. I had to walk back through the crowd of people. As I was walking back I called my wife and said we won! She didnβt believe me then she heard me say thank you, and talking about Hawaii it was the best feeling.
Do coworkers treat you differently once you’ve become a Hawaii trip winner? How?
Yes they tease, but in a fun a joke way like you won the most expensive free trip (by the way itβs not)
In what ways does winning the Hawaii trip change your life?
I most likely would of never had the chance to go to Hawaii without the win. I want to go back all the time it was so fun! I loved the opportunity to travel and take a real vacation.
What would you like the rest of employees to know about winning the Hawaii trip? Β
Itβs not the most expensive free trip. We did everything we wanted to do and we took the public buses all over the island. it was the best trip ever! please keep this going on!
Has your luck continued since winning the Hawaii trip or has it been all downhillΒ since then?
I donβt win stuff anymore.
If you could pick one current employee to win the trip, who would you pick and why?
Anyone on the asphalt crew Talin Wayland Bryce Roads or Kelly Casper
