Tribute to Suzette Clark

After a 33 year career with the City of Orem, Suzette Clark is riding her iron horse into the sunset.

Suzette Clark is one-of-a-kind. A Harley-riding, Porsche-driving, attorney-herding grandma, Suzette has been Office Administrator in the Legal Services Department for almost twenty years. She was an Orem Public Safety dispatcher before that (33 years total with the City). She can be both thoughtful and mischievous, kind and sarcastic, funny and serious. Suzette has an uncanny ability to defuse tense situations and agitated visitors, like a bomb disposal technician rendering a threatening explosive harmless.

In an office often subject to stress, deadlines, conflict, tension, and over-seriousness, Suzette helps keep things light and fun. Her co-workers describe her as โ€œthe light-hearted heart and soul of our departmentโ€, โ€œhelpful, engaging, thoughtful, and a lot of funโ€, โ€œfriendly and pleasantโ€, and as someone whose โ€œquick wit, ready smile and welcoming personality make everyone feel at ease.โ€

We will miss her paging system (yelling, sometimes described as screeching), her treat stash, her trash talk, her random outbursts, her humor, her laugh, and her friendship. We wish Suzette a safe, healthy, and fun retirement.
