Seongho “Sean” Cho Wins it All Thanks to UConn

It is only fitting that in one of the craziest March Madness tournaments in recent memory, the winner of our employee bracket would claim the top prize in equally dramatic fashion. Seongho “Sean” Cho was near the bottom of the rankings in the opening rounds. At one point he was in 74th place. But with some shrewd picks and betting the farm on UConn in later rounds, he has emerged victorious.

There was a rumor that Sean had actually attended UConn at one point in his schooling so this comes as a great personal victory for him. He is truly a winner by both action and association.

We will also be giving prizes to our 2nd, 3rd, and last place finishers. Kurt Falkenthal of Development Services and “Big Rich” Wilkinson also of Development Services were your runner ups. We will be asking Deputy City Attorney Jake Summers to launch a full investigation into just how all three winners belong to the same department. This doesn’t pass the sniff test.

The worst bracket belonged to Luke Chatwin of the Finance Department who scored a grand total of 25 points which in its own way is pretty impressive so we will be giving him a prize as well.

Thanks to everyone who participated in this year’s tournament. If there is interest in doing a bracket challenge for the NBA playoffs, just email pwolfley@orem.org with the subject line “Basketball Jones.” If there is enough interest we’ll set up another contest before the playoffs start on April 11th.
