In an upset that will go down in City of Orem lore, rookie Tom Nisson won the annual Development Services Rib Cook-Off upsetting former champions such as John Wirthlin and Grant Allen. Tom’s ribs scored high marks for tenderness, flavor, and level of “moistness.” Director Ryan Clark presented Tom with the prestigious golden pig which will be in Tom’s possession until the next Ribfest.
The contest was judged by the Three Wise Men: Brady Andreason, Scott Swift, and Jim Orr. Scott Swift received this singular honor because he won the Employee Giving Campaign prize. It pays to give!
