All That Jazz – Week #5

In ancient times heroic deeds were immortalized in poetry. Nowadays we don’t write a whole lot of poetry at all, even if heroic deeds are involved. This Jazz team has a really good shot at going all the way to the championship and it would be a shame if we didn’t have a few poems to celebrate their rise to greatness and NBA all-time glory.

This week we will be composing Haikus that pay tribute to the Jazz. The ancient Japanese art of Haiku dates back to the 17th century. While there are many different versions of the haiku, for our purposes the haikus will be 3 lines with a syllable pattern of 5-7-5.

We have two Japanese experts on staff who will be the judges of the submitted poems.
