Shoga Sushi Bar is located at 386 E University Parkway.Β Though this small little restaurant is located near the busiest part of town, I believe it is a small treasure that is frequently overlooked in our city. In my opinion, Shoga Sushi is the finest quality sushi in our city and should be a frequent lunch for any of our employees. I know that there are a large number of employees who shy away from these delicacies from the east but I assure you your tastes buds will thank you for eating at Shogas. Here is a photo of some of my personal favorite items on the menu at Shogas. The round plate in the rear is seaweed salad topped with squid.Β Now donβt be turned off by the name this is fantastic. Seaweed salad tends to be balanced with sweet, tangy, roast and toasty flavors. These come from sugar, vinegar, toasted sesame seeds and often a dash of sesame oil. You can order with or without the squid, both are equally delicious. On the front rectangular plate from right to left you have. Tobiko, otherwise known as flying fish eggs. Β Natural tobiko has a red-orange color, a mild smoky or salty taste, and a crunchy texture. Then you have Maguro (tuna), Sake (salmon) both of which will just melt in your mouth with no fishy taste. Then you have Unagi (eel) Unagi is highly nutritious and is rich in protein, vitamin A and calcium. Some say it tastes like a sweet, firm-fleshed white fish, a bit like bass. Cooked properly, eel should be soft, fluffy and flaky, pleasant on the palate and without a fishy or earthy aftertaste. Followed by a pallet cleanser garnish ginger root. Shoga Sushi Bar has a very clean inviting environment with super friendly staff who would just love to have you for lunch. There you have it some of my favorite things to eat at our local Shoga Sushi Bar. Β Dollar for dollar Shoga your best bet for sushi in Orem in my opinion.
