Despite his loyalty to the New England Patriots, Lt. Mike Paraskeva was awarded the 2022 Employee of the Year Award at the Employee Appreciation Party on Aug. 25th. Here is the write-up that came with the presentation of the award:
Lt. Michael Paraskeva has taken on significant added responsibility with his leadership of both police records and dispatch. He has been an excellent servant-leader who is always quick with an encouraging word and a listening ear. He is highly attentive to the needs of his teams and fulfills the true calling of a manager to bring out the best in his fellow employees. As a lieutenant, he could easily “pull rank” to get things done but he takes the higher road of leadership through his exceptional knowledge, skill, and sincere care for others. Mike has created an environment of trust that encourages innovation at every level of the areas he supervises. He works tirelessly to build cooperation and understanding internally as well as with other departments. He has been an accelerant for many positive changes in our organization and has been a force for good in every position he has held with the City of Orem.
