It’s with great sadness that I share this news. Our Public Works colleague and friend, Dave Kelander, passed away in his sleep on Friday, July 31. Dave had a hip replacement surgery last Tuesday, and he was looking forward to being free of pain in his leg that he had experienced for many years. Dave officially retired from the City of Orem on July 3, 2020 after 30 years of dedicated fulltime service. He worked in the Streets Section for his entire career and for the past several years he worked as a Storm Water Crew Leader. If you knew Dave, you knew a kind man who was always willing to help others in need. He will be sorely missed by his Public Works family. We wish to express our deepest sympathies to the Kelander family. Additional funeral details will be made shortly if you would like to attend and if circumstances allow. Until we meet again, Dave.
