Having just concluded our Centennial year, a new century of the City of Orem deserves a new employee intranet. However, creating a new intranet is a daunting task.
When the early Orem settlers had a large problem, they turned to Walter C. Orem for help. They say history repeats itself and so it comes as no surprise that we have turned to Walter once again in our time of need.
The HR Portal is new and improved. Pretty much all of the forms you would ever need are now digital and can be filled out from anywhere.
A new calendar just for employees has been added as a one-stop-shop for all employee events.
O-Bay has been retooled to utilize Facebook Marketplace to assist employees in buying and selling their wares. Now you have complete control over your listings.
A new knowledge base of employee know-how. If you've got questions, the Orem Wiki has answers. Don't see something? Let HR know and a new entry will be made.
Walter wants to hear from you! If you have a suggestion on how to make the City of Orem an even better place to work, submit your idea through the suggestion box. There will also be poll questions about various topics affecting employees.
The biggest change to the new intranet is how often it will be updated. Our ICU team has a plan in place to keep Walter fresh. There will also be new features rolled out as we move forward.
