An Artist Works Among Us

Nate Prescott is the city’s Economic Development analyst by day and the city’s coolest urban artist by night.

It’s always a beautiful thing when something lives up to its name. With that being said, there is now art in the Arts District.

Through a great team effort that involved Nate, the Orem Arts Council, the Public Works Traffic Section, and a talented sign guy named Gregg who actually spells Gregg with a double “G” on the end, there are now two beautiful utility boxes in Orem. We hope these are the first two of many more to come.

Nate’s box is at the corner of 400 E and 800 S. The other box was created by Casandra Barney and is on the 400 E side of Scera Park. If you’re ever in that part of town, you should definitely check them out. It’s only a matter of time before they both become PokeStops in Pokemon GO so be sure to get there before they’re overrun by Pokemon fan boys.

The Daily Herald did a great story on the boxes complete with some nice pictures.Β Β

Props to Nate and the Arts Council for getting this initiative started in Orem and we look forward to even more wonderful public art installations throughout the city. Nate is like a young Leonardo da Vinci igniting the spark that will become a renaissance of public art in Orem.
